Our primary printing partner has added this material option to its service offerings. This means we can ship Monkey Resin 3 with our other material options in the same box for the first time. Monkey Resin 3 uses high-end industrial UV Resin printing technology, which is best suited and more cost-effective for larger items and multi-part kits. Rest assured, you will still get the industry-leading quality you've come to expect from our products; they will just need to be removed from the support structure used to print them.
This may be more work for you, but it provides some essential benefits. The supports help to protect the parts while they are being shipped to you and ensure that all the parts of some of our more complicated kits are included. Most importantly, it will keep our production costs lower for you.
Removing Monkey Resin™ 3 from the supports is simple.
The first step, is to remove your bits from their supports structure. To do this easily, submerge the whole assembly into water that is hot to the touch, but not boiling, for five minutes.
After the parts have soaked in the hot water, it should be pliable and allow you to use your fingernail to punch away several supports under your products. This will create a starting point to then carefully peel your parts off of the remaining supports all together.
Some smaller bits will require you to carefully clip each bit off their sprue and supports individually. Snips are suggested for this procedure.
After its been removed, treat this product just like you would any other resin product.
You can use a very fine-grit sandpaper to smooth any surface or feature further. Always be sure to wear a mask when working around resin dust.
Use Super Glue (not plastic glue) to adhere these parts to your models.
