Blank : 60 x 35mm Low-Profile Oval Bases

These low-profile, oval bases measure 60 mm x 35 mm in diameter and are 2 mm thick. On the bottom of each base are areas that allow you to securely glue a few 5 x 1 mm disc magnets in place, making it ideal for those wanting to magnetize them for easier transport and storage.

Our customers find that these bases are suitable for the tiny titans and large tanks of Legions Imperialis or Titanicus*, and can also be used with any 6-8mm scale game systems, such as Epic 30k or 40k. Additionally, they offer a slimmer option for animals, cavalry, monstrous creatures and unique infantry units in the other various 28-32mm scale model games you may want closer to ground level.

PolyApe-12 is a nylon plastic that offers excellent strength and durability. It is a matte white material that can be easily dyed any color you want, even with a simple Sharpie pen, or you can leave it white and paint it. This material is porous enough to accept acrylic paint color without the need for a primer; however, it may provide a nice dark starting point to paint on if you do. We recommend using super glue to attach parts to this material.

To dye our PolyApe-12 bases, add your selected synthetic fabric dye (RIT DyeMore) to some hot water (near boiling). This way the dye can easily dissolve, allowing the bases to absorb the dye quickly. Submerge the bases and maintain the heat until the bases reach you desired color intensity. Rinse the bases thoroughly in cold water and allow to air dry before using.
